Cratebox release notes

Published changes to Cratebox for Mac. The download page always shows the current public version.

Updated October 12, 2026 · By AB Solutions, makers of Cratebox

1.1.3 · October 12, 2026

  • Downloads now show each step after the transfer (Converting, Merging, Tagging and Finalizing) instead of staying at 100%.
  • MP4 downloads use H.264 video and AAC audio, so they play in QuickTime Player on Mac. If a video has no such version at the selected quality, the download stops with a clear message.
  • Cancelling a download stops all of its background processes, including during conversion. Cancelled downloads can be retried or removed from the list.
  • When ffmpeg is missing, the app shows installation steps and a Retry option.
  • License status is stored more reliably and shows clearer states while it is being checked.
  • Playlist downloads summarize how many tracks were added to the queue, failed, or were already queued or in the download folder.

The macOS Apple Silicon app and installer were signed and notarized.

1.1.2 · September 13, 2026

  • Interface updates to hover, contrast and keyboard interaction.
  • Improvements to download metadata and playlist error handling.
  • More reliable cleanup of search-query processes when a query is cancelled or times out.
  • Release checks extended with frontend and release-registry tests.

The macOS Apple Silicon app and installer were signed and notarized. The in-app updater was verified by installing this release over 1.1.1.
